Eligibility and Application

Applications for our 2025 Miss Seattle and Miss Seattle's Teen competition will begin in July 2024.

Eligibility:

All applicants for Miss Seattle must be female and at least 18 years of age but not older than 28 on December 31st of the year she competes at Miss America. She must be in good health and a United States citizen. Entrants must never have been married, nor had marriage annulled. She must not be pregnant or parent of a child/adopted child.
Candidates who are competing for Miss Seattle must reside, work, attend school, or be a dependent of a parent or guardian who resides in King County, Snohomish County, Pierce County, or Kitsap County.*

All applicants for Miss Seattle's Outstanding Teen must be female and at least 13 years of age but no older than 18 on December 31st of the year she competes at Miss America's Outstanding Teen. She must be in good health and a United States citizen.
All Teen candidates must reside or be dependent of a parent or guardian who resides in Washington state.

All applicants, before submitting their local application, must register with the Miss America Program and submit their $35 registration fee.

*If the potential candidate resides outside of the above mentioned counties and the Miss Seattle competition is the next closest local competition, then the applicant may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Please contact the Miss Seattle organization if there are any eligibility questions.

About the Competition

Talent

The Talent portion of the competition provides the opportunity for each candidate to execute a skill or talent of their choosing. Each candidate receives 90 seconds to perform.

Private Interview

Each candidate is able to meet with a panel of five judges in a private interview sharing what she is doing to further her social impact initiative in her community. Judges are looking for a candidate's ability to communicate her accomplishments and express her beliefs.

On-Stage Question

Candidates will be asked a question in front of the panel of judges and the audience in the form of an On-Stage Question. judges will look for intelligence, personality, aptitude for the job, ability to communicate, stage presence, reliability, and the ability to build on the conversation from the personal interview.

Lifestyle and Fitness

Contestants will demonstrate what a healthy lifestyle means to them in an upbeat way. Judges are looking for confidence and stage presence in each young woman.

Evening Gown

This is the chance for each candidate to show off their sense of style with confidence and poise in a red carpet inspired evening gown of her choosing.
